  4. This is my first attempt at a P.D disk so if you find this a little basic
  5. for your needs then why not attempt one for yourselves as you may then
  6. appreciate just how long it takes to compile a disk.

  8.                          Why another Icon Disk?
  9.                          ----------------------
  10. This is more than likely the first question that you would like to ask.
  11. Well my answer is that having tried several of these disks I had found
  12. that many of them contained some icons that I would not even want to use
  13. on my working copy of Workbench.This of course is not to say that this is
  14. the best Icon disk ever as in the end it is all a matter of what you like
  15. and don't like.The only other thing that I have added to this disk is a
  16. simple step by step guide on how to use these Icons.

  18.                          How much will this cost me?

  21. As with all P.D there is no cost for this collection but any comments would
  22. of course be welcomed along with any advice by writing to the address
  23. below and if you would care to send a donation in DM or £ then this would
  24. be accepted no matter how small or large.

  26.                          How do I use this Disk?
  27.                          -----------------------
  28. To start with you will find things are much easier if you have a couple of
  29. good P.D utilities such as SID and ICONMASTER as these are about the best
  30. utilities that I have recieved from P.D.
  31. O.K now you have these utilities to hand I will try and go through a step
  32. by step account of what to do.
  33.  
  34. 1) Load SID in DF0:
  35. 2) Remove SID and place this disk in its place.
  36. 3) List the contents of this and open up the drawer you require.
  37. 4) Place the disk who's Icon you wish to change in DF1:
  38. 5) Delete the Icon from DF1: that you wish to change,but make sure that
  39.    you note the spelling.
  40. 6) Copy from this disk the Icon (info) you wish to replace it with then
  41.    rename this to the name the original Icon was called.
  42. 7) Remove all disks from the Amiga reboot it and place in your changed
  43.    disk and all going well you should have what you want.

  45.                         Why wont it work?
  46.                         -----------------
  47. There are of course many reasons that this could be but I have found that
  48. the most common are as follows.
  49. 1) The Icon has not been either renamed or not renamed the same as the one
  50.    that you deleted
  51. 2) The Icon is not of The desired type for example it is of no use using a
  52.    disk Icon to operate a drawer unless you own a good utility such as
  53.    Iconmaster which I mentioned before as this allows you to change the 
  54.    tool type of the Icon.
